The Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India (RG&CCI) introduced 13 new data fields, including digital literacy and spouse's name, for the Census 2027 enumeration in specific hilly and snow-bound regions.

The RG&CCI notified 40 questions for the Census 2027 Population Enumeration in Ladakh, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The process includes a self-enumeration portal (www.se/snowbound.census.gov.in) followed by door-to-door enumeration starting in September.
