On 14 March 2026, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the government would provide an additional Rs 5,000 crore through the Supplementary Budget for compensation to farmers whose land is acquired for Upper Krishna Project Stage 3, on top of Rs 3,000 crore in the 2026-27 budget, according to Deccan Herald.
