“Charge 2% of guidance value instead of 5% (a 60% discount) for converting 'B' khata properties to 'A' khata within Greater Bengaluru Authority limits, for applications made within 100 days from 15 May 2026”

On 25 April 2026 Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced a one-time 60% discount on the fee for converting 'B' khata properties to 'A' khata within Greater Bengaluru Authority limits: 2% of guidance value instead of 5% for applications made in the 100 days from 15 May. Deccan Herald reported in August 2026 that the reduced fee was in force with the window open until 23 August, and that Bengaluru's city corporations had received about 65,000 applications. In September the GBA reported about Rs 600 crore in conversion revenue.

“So far, a property valued at Rs 1 crore had to pay Rs 5 lakh for the conversion of 'B' khata. The fee will now be reduced to just Rs 2 lakh. About 7 lakh 'B' khata properties can make use of this scheme”
